Grade 1 listed. One of the most historic churches of Anglesey. Dedicated to Cadwaladr the Blessed (c. 7th), the church had close links with the Welsh court at Aberffraw. Within church, there is an inscribed stone commemorating King Cadfan of Gwynedd, who died c. 625 AD. The fine stained glass east window was a gift from Meuric ap Llewelyn & his wife, in thanks for the safe return of their son from the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
Also of the note - the Meyrick and BodOwen Chapels, both containing with memorials to the prominent Anglesey families who built them. |
