Special features |
Established by Saints Anhun and Madryn in 560AD. Unusual in the Commote of Ardudwy because of its double aisle. Remains of circular graveyard still visible. Present building north nave 12th C and South nave 16th C. Partly destroyed by fire in 1978, re-opened June 1981. St. John Roberts (one of the Catholic 40 Martyrs, 1577 - 1610) and Bishop Humphrey Lloyd (1610 – 1688, Bishop of Bangor) both from Trawsfynydd, were baptised here. Unique carved spire font cover made by Japanese craftsman. Part of the “Saint John Roberts Trail”, from Trawsfynydd to Cymer Abbey. |
