Special features

Established by Saints Anhun and Madryn in 560AD.  Unusual in the Commote of Ardudwy because of its double aisle.  Remains of circular graveyard still visible.  Present building north nave 12th C and South nave 16th C.  Partly destroyed by fire in 1978, re-opened June 1981.  St. John Roberts (one of the Catholic 40 Martyrs, 1577 - 1610) and Bishop Humphrey Lloyd (1610 – 1688, Bishop of Bangor) both from Trawsfynydd, were baptised here.  Unique carved spire font cover made by Japanese craftsman.  Part of the “Saint John Roberts Trail”, from Trawsfynydd to Cymer Abbey.
